Perri and her husband, Larry Hafemeister, and a menagerie of cats and dogs, live alongside Village Bay Lake on Quadra Island, British Columbia, They annually host a parade of young assistants who come to help out in the studio or participate in the endless activities a remote, 5 acre, location provides. With a Bachelors degree from Syracuse University and a graduate degree in Art as Applied to Medicine from The Johns Hopkins Medical School, Perri worked for many years as a staff illustrator preparing surgical illustrations for medical schools and publishers. She headed up 45-member art department at the University of Texas Medical School at Dallas while serving on the faculty of the Graduate School Program in Biomedical Communications until she retired in 2005 and moved to Canada.
