“Portraits
in the Park” Vienna, Austria, June 15-24,
2009
with Guest Artist, John Cook
Workshop fee: $450 per person, Housing: 35Euro/day/person
(approx $500 US$). These are student apartments with
2 and 3 bedrooms each. Most are double, a few singles
may be available. All with washer/dryers, kitchens,
Internet and phones.)
“Portraits in the Parks” will be a combination
landscape and figure painting workshop for 10 days
all pretty much taking place in the inner city and
along the "Ringstrasse" or Ring Boulevard
that surrounds the old city. Vienna constructed most
of their public parks, civic buildings, museums,
opera house, etc on the ring and during June, many
of the parks host symphony concerts during the day.
My former association with the Institute of European
Studies (IES) has given us access to student apartments.
This is not an 'all-in-one' package. I've found so
many folks want to use their frequent flyer miles
and add friends before, during and after, that I'm
keeping it very simple. Thus, airfare, meals, 10-day
passes for the transportation system, and museum
entry fees are all extra.
