Each year, I try to capture the scene behind my studio. There is so much variation depending on the time of day, the season of the year, the level of the lake, and the moisture in the air. I've come to realize that I have to decide on one 10 minute segment, then come back several days in a row to capture that exact position of the light. The hard part is quitting after painting for just a few minutes each session.
